A Wine Tasting World Cup is a playful, high-energy journey around the globe, no passports required.
Eight wines. Eight countries. All served blind. Guided by Mark from Marquee Wine & Spirits.
Guests taste, compare, debate, and vote their way through a bracket-style showdown where each pour competes for the title of World Champion. Labels stay hidden, so every decision is guided purely by aroma, flavor, and personal discovery, no expectations, no pressure, just curiosity and fun.
As the competition unfolds, participants experience the diversity of global winemaking styles from bright and expressive to bold and complex while building their tasting confidence along the way. The winning wine earns bragging rights, but the real prize is the shared experience of exploration and connection.
Guests will also enjoy a selection of light bites thoughtfully paired to complement the wines and keep the energy lively throughout the competition. And to remember the evening, each participant will take home their own Riedel tasting glass, a keepsake for future pours and a little reminder of your journey through the Wine Tasting World Cup.
The evening builds toward a special Spotlight Destination Reveal, a moment that connects what’s in your glass to where you could be going next.
One of the eight wines has been carefully selected to represent the destination for an upcoming Village Travel with Shelley client experience trip. Once the tastings are complete and the labels are unveiled, that wine becomes the gateway to a deeper story about its region, its landscapes, traditions, cuisine, and the moments that make it unforgettable.
Shelley, joined by a representative from CIE Tours, will share a lively, insider-style presentation that brings the destination to life. Expect engaging stories, cultural highlights, and a preview of the curated experiences planned exclusively for travelers on this trip, from iconic sights to meaningful local connections.
By the end of the reveal, guests won’t just know which wine they loved, they’ll know where it can take them. A perfect blend of discovery, inspiration, and a little wanderlust to close out the Wine Tasting World Cup experience.
